On the scalability of private and pooled on-demand services for urban mobility in Amsterdam

The emergence of on-demand transport services is set to change the mobility landscape in urban areas. This study investigates potential scalability an system substitute motorised trips performed by private cars and public Amsterdam, Netherlands. We adopt agent-based simulation framework investigate scenarios where either pooled replace car trips, or both trips. Service performance terms level service offered operational efficiency are analysed. Results indicate that fare better than veh-km travelled empty drive ratio. Private generate 43%, 38%, 44% more when respectively. However, offer shorter total travel times for all scenarios.
